, sliced thick + stale. This combination helps soak up the custard and provides a better texture
unsalted butter

whole milk
1 dash
vanilla extract
1 pinch
Cinnamon (Ground)
kosher salt

granulated sugar
in a bowl, add the custard ingredients and whisk until thoroughly combined
soak bread into egg mixture until saturated ~5 seconds per side. Let excess custard drip off before frying
over medium-low heat fry the soaked bread with butter until browned on both sides
Add preferred toppings (butter, maple syrup, caramelized bananas, etc)
