Marinara Sauce

canned whole san marzano tomatoes
18 g
garlic

extra virgin olive oil

red pepper flakes

Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant but do not let it brown ~30-60s
Add tomatoes an crush them with a spoon. Stir in salt, pepper flakes, oregano, and black pepper.
Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes to let it reduce and thicken
add sliced basil in the last few minutes of simmering and adjust seasoning as needed
optionally use an immersion blender for a smoother texture
